Routine....what's that???

I mentioned in a past post that I was going to start school back up this past Monday....ya, that didn't happen. Mom just left this past Friday and to be completely honest, we are still trying to put our household back together. The kids are completely out of their routine and I'm not sure that routine will even work anymore. The house is still a complete disaster and I have little to no energy to clean it up. (Lizzie is a sporadic sleeper. One night she sleeps 5 hours at a time, others only two at a time.)

Sean was informed that his PTO would be up tomorrow, due to his boss making a huge time card mistake. Now to finish out his last two weeks off, he had to take something called LOA. He basically gets paid a little more than half of his current salary for the next two weeks. Its a state funded program for people who need to take an extended period of time off from work. This is the only state in the country that offers the program. It's not ideal, but my recovery has been very slow and I am no where near ready to be on my own with 6 children and teach Deco and Cian. So with this last two weeks off, we have to come up with a whole new routine. Never in a million years did I think this would be so hard. I always said, once you have one or two kids, whats two or three more? Well, my magic number is 6. Suddenly its a whole new ball park. Its not so easy anymore. In fact, I'd compare it to rush hour in Boston. Maybe its hard to me because we had a house guest for the first weeks or so after the baby was born and no control over the kids. Now they think they run the house because I don't have the energy to put them back in order. I guess time will tell.

How do they do that???

Ever wonder how they make those incredible love scenes in soap operas? (See video above) I could never figure out how they make "making love" look so beautiful. I don't know about any of you, but lets face it, it's NEVER really like that. I'm tempted to email the producers and ask for their, like they would ever tell. I know its completely fake, but wouldn't it be nice to bring some of that magic to your own bedroom? Ok, I think that's enough about soap opera love making for on e

We made it through one week!

We made it through the first 7 days with Elizabeth and the other 5 kiddies! Last night was our only rough patch. Lizzie projectile vomited all over Sean after only eating an ounce. She is starting to cluster feed and not burp. She fussed and cried for almost an hour after that, but there was no way I was going to feed her again that soon. Finally she fell asleep and didn't wake up until almost 4am.

All the kids seem to be taking well to her. Mary has even warmed up to her and loves to give her little head butts. I know that sounds crazy, but she is very gentle about it. Thats her way of showing love.

Mom has been a huge help with the other kids. They have all really taken to her. (They only see her once or twice a year) Especially Mary, she has blossomed so much with Mom being here. She walks everywhere and has become very independant. However, every time Mary cries, Mom picks her up and carries her everywhere. That is going to be a problem after she leaves.

As much as we love having Mom here, we are looking forward to just being our "little" family and getting things back to normal. I am planning on starting school back up on Monday. They have been off for the last two weeks. It will be a challenge when Sean goes back to work in early Nov. but we will manage!

Tomorrow is the big day!!!!

I went to the doctor this morning. Waited 45 minutes, sitting next to a women with horrible perfume. It was so hot in the office. I thought I was going to be sick. Finally I was called in. My doctor did another exam. I am now 70% effaced and 3 centimeters dilated. She said I progressed a lot in one week and was positive that I would go into labor this week. She asked how long my last labor was...whenI said 3 hours, her eyes widened and decided she wanted to enduce me tomorrow. Her concern was that I wouldn't make it to the hospital in time. (We live 30-40 minutes from the hospital) So, tomorrow at 7:30am i will be induced!!!! We talked Mom into changeing her flight as well. Sean is picking her up from the airport right now. Everything seems to be falling into place nicely!!!

I love this time of year. The weather change, having all the doors and windows open, and all the pretty fall colors. Most of all, it's the beginning on my favorite holidays. Halloween is my favorite by far. I love the decorations and costumes. Thanksgiving is my second favorite holiday. I love searching for recipes online for Sean and I to cook all day and watch football. It's such a wonderful time of year. It's the time of year to give thanks for all we've been blessed with and remember all that we've lost. This time of year was my Grandmothers favorite as well. She passed away almost 9 years ago, but she is still very much alive in our home.

This picture is the centerpiece on our kitchen table. Sean found the flowers at Big Lots and the pumpkins are from my pumpkin patch. Little by little we are starting to decorate the house. We don't have a lot of money, with the new baby coming, but we do find great bargins at places like Big Lots and Ebay. The second picture is a cute scarecrow Sean also found at Big Lots. Fionn was terrified of it at first, but now thinks of him as a new member of the family. He calls him Mr. Straws. Thats all we've bought for now. I hope to find some other ideas online. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!!!

38 weeks and 5 days....

The countdown begins.....I went to the doctor yesterday. I was actually suppose to see my doctor but she had another lady go into labor early that morning, so I had to settle for one of the nurses. I gained another 2 lbs from my last visit, which I wasn't thrilled about. I think this is the most I've weighed in all my pregnancies. Thank God Sean bought the Wii Fit game for us to lose the weight together.

I had my second "check" as well. I am 50% effaced and 1 centimeter dialated. Again, I was not thrilled as Mom will not be out here until the 14th. That's a week from tomorrow. As I mentioned before, if I go into labor before she gets here, I will be completely on my own. No Sean, nothing. He wouldn't even be able to visit me in the hospital. The point of me making this appointment was to speak to my doctor regarding the situation. I was told by one of the nurses my last visit, that so long as I was 40 weeks, I could be enduced the following day if I chose. Now I come to find that if the hospital is booked around that time, that will not be possible. Mom will only be here for 11 days. Declan's birthday is the 21st and we are planning on taking them to Disney that day for their Halloween. If I can't deliver by say...Sat or Sun(17 or 18th), there will be no Disney for the boys. That would break their hearts. I know we have to control over the situation, but it still bothers me. Anywho...thanks for listening, you are all wonderful!!!
