Happy New Year!

I can hardly believe another year has flown by in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Just yesterday, (or so it seems) we were celebrating Christmas in Nevada. (a white Christmas, if you can believe that) It was Mary's first Christmas and we were living in a very small 3 bedroom condo. After spending several years in that God awful state, and Sean going through three jobs, all of which he was laid off, he finally found a company that was in good financial condition and actually enjoyed going to work for. We were able to save enough money to move to our current state and start a new life for our children.

As 2010 approached, Sean and I talked about what we wanted to fulfill in this new year. We talked about what each of us would like to see in our home and where we would like to be by 2011. First on our agenda, a new dining room set. We bought the one we have about two years ago from a used items store. It is nothing fancy and only had 3 matching chairs. The screw holes on the bottom of the table were stripped so we had a hard time keeping it stable, but it was what we could afford at the time. Thanks to Seans wonderful job, there is an employee discount site that enables us to afford this lovely dining room set. Since we chose a country theme for our kitchen, this will work nicely.

Sean will be getting a 3% raise sometime in Feburary. Our lease here will be up in May. We had thought about moving to a bigger house, closer to the coast, but our current landlord has been wonderful to us, and with the extra money Sean will gain from his raise, we could put more into savings. So, we thought about moving the two little boys beds into Deco and Cians room, and making that just a sleeping room for all four. We would move the two girls out of the living room and into Fionn and Liams room. Since they never spend any time in there rooms, it seemed like a good idea. We also toyed with the idea of turning the living room into a giant playroom, since I turned their playroom into a classroom. We would move the HDTV into our room and install large baby gates on either side of the dining room and kitchen doorways. I also thought about getting new carpet installed in the living room, but Sean didn't want to fork out the money for a house we didn't own. So I guess we'll just have them cleaned.

2009 has been a great year for us. Sure we had a few ups and downs, but nothing compared to past years. We live in a beautiful state. Our children are happy and have everything they need. We have a nice house we can afford and have even been able to buy new things for our home. I am very greatful for what we have. I have high hopes for 2010. He's to hoping things will only get better!!!

Happy New Year to all my wonderful blogging friends and family!!! I wish you all a safe and happy 2010. May you all have all your hopes and dreams fulfilled in this new year. God Bless!
