The garden is half finished!

I finally finished the first half of our veggie garden. It took almost 4 days, but with a lot of hard work and a few sun burns, the boys and I finally finished the job! We planted sweet corn on the cob, organic carrots and green beans. We should start seeing some seedlings in one to two weeks! I took some pictures below of the fun and finished product!

Our extended family member...

A few days after we moved into this house, a stray cat started hanging out around our house. I noticed it across the street at the neighbors house and again at another neighbors' 2 doors down. I actually thought it belonged to the neighbor 2 doors down, but the boy that lives there told me where the cat came from. The house across the street and two doors down owned her about 5 years ago. They moved out and just left her behind. She has been roaming this street ever since. Non of the neighbors can actually take her in, due to their own pets, us included, but I leave food and water out for her everyday. Her name is Sox and she spends most of her time playing with the boys out back and sleeping on our front step. PT (Our cat) HATES her and will do anything in his power to chase her away. Poor cat....

I had a request to do a before and after shot of the changes/decorating we do with the new house. So I have decided to start outside. I don't think I need to do much with the front yard, but the back is a whole different story. Here are the before pictures of the backyard. One of the front yard as well. I am spending my Memorial Day at Walmart, picking out veggie seeds, gardening tools, and a few necessary items for inside the house. The rest of the day will be digging up weeds and getting ready to plant my garden...WOO HOO! Wish me luck!!

Kids can sleep anywhere!

Declan came running into the living room saying "Boshimb fell asleep in the toy box" When I went to see for myself, this is what I found....I don't know how they can fall asleep that way. That just can't be comfortable. Needless to say, Liam slept that way for about 30 minutes, until his brothers decided to wake him up.

Ramdom Pictures

Here are a few pictures of the kids we took over the last two weeks. With all the crazieness, I haven't had a chance to post them. Enjoy! P.S. Mary finally got her first tooth yesterday! It's the front bottom left tooth and it just broke through. I will be sure to post pictures when it comes in more visibly!

Yet another house hurdle...

Well, the roach and spider problem seems to be under control. You would think that would be the last of the house such luck. So, I was doing dishes and laundry the other day when the entire kitchen sink backed up. It only lasted a few minutes and then drained out quickly. I thought it was odd, but didn't give it a second thought, until I went into the garage to put my clothes in the dryer. What did I find out there....a flooded garage. It hadn't done that before, and again I really didn't give it a second thought. Well, yesterday I did another load of laundry and Sean said the entire sink was backed up in the kitchen. About 5 minutes later, I heard water flowing in the garage...OMG...the pipe sticking out of the wall where the drain off hose goes from the washer was spewing dirty water everywhere. I didn't know what to do, so I called my Dad. He said the main drain was clogged and we needed to get a plummer out there asap. Well, that ment calling the landlord, which I didn't want to do since the kitchen window is still broken and we can't get that fixed until after Sean gets paid next week. (Why is the window broken you ask...that's a story for another post) Well, the plumming needs to get fixed so I had to just call her. I left her a message and she showed up later that evening. She was very upset and said she would take care of it right away. Needless to say, a plummer will be here today between 10 and 12. Hopefully this will be the last of the house dilemmas! Update: So, the plummer was here for about 2 hours. The verdict, the former tenants poured cooking grease down the disposal quite often. He said it is still pretty clogged and will need to use some sort of rocket bomb to clear it out completely. He needs to get the owners permission to do so however. For now it's fixed and that's all I care about.

Finally settled in!

After a long difficult move, we are finally getting settled in our new house. Sean has started at his store and is learning how things work in this reigon. I have discovered we have 6 rose bushes. 2 in the front and 4 in the back. The back yard really needs some major tlc and after Sean get paid next week, I am headed to WalMart to buy flowers and seeds to start a small garden. The bug man will be here to bomb the kitchen in one of two treatments tomorrow. We have to leave the house for 2 to 3 hours until the stuff dries. Hopefully this will kill all the ants, spiders, and most importantly, the roaches. Then maybe I will finally be able to cook in my own kitchen.

We Moved!!

Well, after a few nail biters, we finally found a house. We just moved in yesterday and with the help of my Mom, the drive went smoothly. Its a cute little house with a small backyard, but no grass, just slab. I also have 5 rose bushes, 2 in the front and 3 in the back. There is also fresh mint growing back there as well. (If I wasn't pregnant, I would have Mojitos daily) There is also a small dirt area for me to plant flowers and veggies! The kids have an inclosed patio that we have turned into a playroom for them, it's not air conditioned however. Unfortunately, it did not come with a washer/dryer or frige. So Mom and Sean went in search of the cheapest they could find. They ended up with quite a bargin and all three will be delivered tomorrow. There is one really bad part....are you ready for this........the house is infested with ROACHES! Sean went to lite the pilot on the stove and had to lift the range up, hundreds of roaches came crawling out all over the counters. I freaked out! It looked like the owned never had the inside of the range cleaned. They are everywhere in the kitchen. So Sean hired a bug guy and he will be here on Monday morning. On a funny note, we haven't been in the house 48 hours and my retarded husband already broke a window. The kitchen window. After having a few beers and 2 margaritas with my Mom, he was trying to open the kitchen window. It looked like it had been painted shut, so what does he do, bangs on the top and bottom of the window and then.. CRASH, there went my kitchen window, shattered. Mom thought it was the funniest thing, I didn't. On the plus side, we have renters insurance, so it is covered. Sean starts at his new store at 7am tomorrow morning. He has a meeting and then he goes to work at his store. On Mother's Day, no less. I can't believe she would schedule a meeting on a Sunday, much less Mother's Day. What a witch! When he gets home, we have to do a walk throught with the owner. So there is my Mother's Day in a nut shell.

Mary's Month

Today is May 1st! Not only is it the month my beautiful Mother was born and Mother's Day, but it is also the month of our Blessed Mother Mary. I hold a very sacred and deep place in my heart for her. She is an inspiration and hope in my life. She is also who we chose to name our first (and maybe only) daughter after. Mary Elizabeth! I hope you all can find some time in your busy lives to pray for our Blessed Mother.
