The finished product!

So the kitchen is finally done, after hours and hours of strange smelly men that speak little to no English. Keiko came over around 4pm on Friday expecting the whole project to be finished. Instead all she saw was the cabinets installed. They had taken the old stove out of the counter and left a huge gaping hole there. (Sean had just left to go pick us up dinner.) She was pleased but wondered why they hadn't finished yet. Sean came home a few minutes after she left with yummy subs for everyone. Of course the workers returned right when we were all eating dinner, so Sean asked them to wait until the kids were finished. So they left for another 15 minutes and then returned to install the butcher block. About 10 minutes after we cleaned up dinner, Keiko returned with dinner for all of us. She went out of her way to buy us El Pollo Loco. Sean and I were shocked. We didn't have the heart to tell her we already ate. Out of the kindness of her heart, she saw that we had no way to cook our children food and bought it for us. She is the most wonderful women. So we were Hobbits for the evening and had second

They were finally finished around 7:30pm Friday night. Here are a few more pictures of the end result. the first pictures were of the work in progress. The old stove in the counter as well. Below is the finished product with granite counter tops, Maytag stove and microwave, and the new butcher block replacing the old stove.

This is the new wing of the kitchen.

The new butcher block.

The entire kitchen.

All in all, yes it was annoying having people in our house at all hours of the day for two weeks, but it was all worth it. I used our new oven and stove to bake lasagna for the kids and home made nachos for Sean and I. I am pleased!!!

Sean is off today and tomorrow, so here are a few pictures of the kids we took this morning. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
